Supporting stray and feral cats at site by providing food, shelter and veterinary care. Educating and encouraging the neutering of domestic cats to reduce the problem of kittens being born outdoors and allowed to become feral and difficult to rehome. Many of the affectionate cats in care were once pets that, having been abandoned and left un-neutered, have contributed to the problem of feral kittens and cats.

ASHBOURNE ANIMAL WELFARE

The Society is a registered charity, and has helped thousands of animals in need since it's formation in 1990. They care for and re-home unwanted and stray dogs and cats, ensuring they are neutered prior to rehoming. They are also actively reducing the future number of stray cats by neutering feral cat colonies. DOVE CAT RESCUE SANCTUARY
Dove Holes, near Buxton
A caring voluntary group which offers sanctuary to cats of any age. The sanctuary currently cares for around 70 cats and kittens, and also has a large number of cats waiting to come in. If you can offer a home to a cat, please get in touch. An appointment must be made to view the cats and to arrange for a pre-adoption interview. When adopting a cat, a contribution is expected which helps towards the upkeep of the sanctuary, and the cost of neutering and vaccinations. Kittens are required to be neutered when of age, and adult cats are neutered prior to adoption.

THE CINNAMON TRUST

The National Charity helping elderly and terminally ill people to look after their pets. The Cinnamon Trust’s UK wide network of dedicated Volunteers offer support, enabling pets and owners to stay together. They provide dog walking, pet food shopping, feeding, cleaning, and will foster pets when owners need hospital or respite care.
Please Note: The Cinnamon Trust is not a rescue shelter and cannot take unwanted cats in, but if a pet becomes bereaved they will take on their full time, life-long care.
