FIFE CAT SHELTER (FIFE CAT RESCUE)
Scottish Registered Charity: SCO 21654
Covering Fife, and occasionally areas surrounding Fife.
A Scottish Registered Charity since 1993, the shelter rehomes on average 450 cats and kittens each year. Cats are health checked and neutered prior to re-homing. Elderly cats always find it harder to be rehomed, but the shelter will keep them for as long as it takes. There is a donation charge to rescue a cat, which helps towards vet and food bills. They will always try to match cat and owner as closely as possible, as it is essential that cat and owner are happy together. So if you would like to rescue a cat (or two), give them a call!
Advice is also offered to cat owners about all aspects of cat ownership.
Cats Seeking Homes: Some of the cats currently seeking a home appear on their website, linked below.
Neutering Assistance: The shelter offers financial help to owners towards the cost of neutering their cats.
Quality Items Needed: The Shelter is always grateful for good quality items for tombola prizes and to sell for funds.

THE CINNAMON TRUST
Registered Charity no: 293399
The national charity for elderly people, and their much loved, much needed companion animals. A network of 8,000 volunteers “hold hands” with owners to provide vital loving care for their pets. The trust aims to keep them together - for example, by walking a dog every day for a housebound owner, fostering pets when owners need hospital care, fetching the cat food, or even cleaning the budgie's cage. And when a pet is bereaved the Trust takes on their full time, life time care.
Short-Term Foster Homes Needed: Temporary, short-term foster homes are needed to care for bereaved cats whilst a Lifelong Home is being found, and also for when people need a hospital stay and require temporary foster care for their cat. Please contact us if you could help.
Lifelong Foster Homes Needed: Lifelong Foster Homes are required for cats left in the care of The Trust. Future Veterinary fees will be paid by The Cinnamon Trust. Please contact as below if you could offer a home for life to a bereaved cat.
Please Note: The Trust is not a rescue centre taking cats in for homing, but when an elderly owner dies, and their animal companion is left in their care, the Trust will do their best to find a loving, life-long foster home for them.

Pedigree Cats also find themselves in rescue centres, for the same reasons as many 'moggies' - a change in the owner's living arrangements, the family is emigrating, relationship breakdowns and divorce, a family member develops an allergy, the owner has died or gone into a care home, and many more reasons.
