BELFAST ANIMAL RESCUE
Based in Killyleagh, County Down
Rescuing and rehoming mainly cats, but some dogs also, in Belfast and the surrounding areas. Rescue facilities in Northern Ireland are at a premium, due to the recent closure of two other shelters. This small but dedicated group do what they can with limited resources, if you can help in any way, please get in touch. If you are able to offer a loving, permanent home to a rescued cat or dog, they would love to hear form you.

BRIGHT EYES ANIMAL SANCTUARY

Registered with the Inland Revenue as "Fermanagh Animal Welfare Protection Society".
Mainly covering County Fermanagh, including Enniskillen, Lisnaskea & Irvinestown. Also rehomes to surrounding counties including Co. Tyrone, Co. Donegal, Co. Monaghan & Co.Cavan.
Founded in 1989, and run entirely by volunteers, Bright Eyes is an independent animal sanctuary, looking after up to 100 cats and 50 dogs. They have a No Kill Policy. They also offer help and advice to the public and operate a Trap, Neuter, Return policy in relation to the feral cat population. A home check is carried out prior to adoption to ensure mutual suitability. Good homes always needed for both domestic and feral cats.

7th HEAVEN ANIMAL RESCUE TRUST
The Trust is a non-profit registered charity, set up in March 2003 by a group of animal lovers united by their common love and dedication to animals. Northern Ireland has the highest rate of stray, abused and abandoned animals in the whole of the UK, with many more animals destroyed for want of a new home than in any other area. 7th Heaven does not have a central sanctuary, instead animals are cared for in volunteers our own homes, allowing the animals much more personal care and attention. 7th Heaven operates a no kill policy.

THE RAINBOW REHOMING CENTRE
Based in Co. Derry ~ serving the North West of Ireland.
Rescuing and rehoming cats and dogs in the North West of Ireland. Rainbow Rehoming Centre is a shelter for dogs and cats, kittens and pups that have been abandoned or are stray. The animal shelter is located in Co. Derry, Northern Ireland, only 7 miles from the city, but their rescue and rehoming covers the whole North West region of Ireland. The centre rehomes over 400 dogs and cats every year, and has a non-destruction policy, meaning that they will never put a healthy dog or cat to sleep. All animals are spayed or neutered before being rehomed.

ANIMAL CONNEXIONS

Based in Craigavon, Co. Armagh, they rescue and re-home province wide. Founded in 1997, they specialise in the handrearing of kittens/puppies. Actively involved in the rescue of unwanted and stray cats and dogs, plus they operate a trap-netuer-release programme for feral cats. All the animals are cared for through a network of volunteer foster homes, where they are kept in a safe, warm environment and are able to be socialised before rehoming. All the 'furbabes' in their care are very much loved until such time as a suitable loving home can be found. If you can offer a home to a rescued animal, or wish to make a donation, they would love to hear from you. All funds raised go directly towards the care of the animals. Animal Connexions operates a no-kill policy.

THE CINNAMON TRUST

The national charity for elderly people, and their much loved, much needed companion animals. A network of 8,000 volunteers “hold hands” with owners to provide vital loving care for their pets. The trust aims to keep them together - for example, by walking a dog every day for a housebound owner, fostering pets when owners need hospital care, fetching the cat food, or even cleaning the budgie's cage. And when a pet is bereaved the Trust takes on their full time, life time care.
Short-Term Foster Homes Needed: Temporary, short-term foster homes are needed to care for bereaved cats whilst a Lifelong Home is being found, and also for when people need a hospital stay and require temporary foster care for their cat. Please contact us if you could help.
Lifelong Foster Homes Needed: Lifelong Foster Homes are required for cats left in the care of The Trust. Future Veterinary fees will be paid by The Cinnamon Trust. Please contact as below if you could offer a home for life to a bereaved cat.
Please Note: The Trust is not a rescue centre taking cats in for homing, but when an elderly owner dies, and their animal companion is left in their care, the Trust will do their best to find a loving, life-long foster home for them.
