Caring for and re-homing both dogs and cats. They care for up to 60 dogs and 35 cats at any one time, including some that have been transferred down from the Home in London. Their 18 cattery pens are full most of the time, even though they manage to rehome 30 to 40 cats each month. Applicants details are retained on file, so they can be matched with just the right cat. If you could offer one of their animals a permanent, loving home, why not go along for a visit. There is also a support shop at the centre, which raises vital funds.

STREETKATZ RESCUE
Based in Lamberhurst, Kent - covering Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Crowborough and Heathfield. Homeless and abandoned animals are having to fend for themselves on the streets, vulnerable to cruelty, starvation and untimely death. Streetkatz aims to give all homeless and abandoned cats and kittens of all ages a chance of survival and a brighter future. As a small organisation, they can often move more quickly to help cats struggling to survive on the streets. Their priority areas are older cats abandoned to live on the streets, Cats and kittens born outdoors with no known owners and to trap, neuter and release back onto site of feral cats and the rehabilitation and rehoming of baby feral kittens where possible. Streetkatz actively promotes the neutering of all cats and kittens over the age of 5 months.This rescue does not have a shelter but operates through a network of fosterers.

THE CATCUDDLES SANCTUARY

Covering East London & West Kent, taking in, assessing, rehabilitating & rehoming pre-loved cats and kittens that need new forever homes, due to unavoidable changes in family circumstances. All cats get veterinary care, up to date vaccinations, flea and worming treatment, microchipping and neutering. The sanctuary simulates the kittie's home environment where each kitty gets 121 affection and lives in it's own quarters in a custom build residential annexe with heating, insulation, lighting and music. The Catcuddles Sanctuary also aims to help senior citizens care for their furry friends, and believe that cats are therapy to humans and should stay with them as long as possible.

MEDWAY CAT TRUST

Helping, Healing and Homing: The Medway Cat Trust works closely with an established Medway-based veterinary surgery. Their aim is to treat, care and rehome cats who are abandoned in the Medway area, many of whom have been neglected or injured, and are often left at the surgery. Cats are then cared for in volunteer foster homes until a new home is found. Before rehoming, all cats are neutered, treated for fleas and worms, and vaccinated against cat flu and enteritis. Pre-homing checks are carried out prior to placing a cat, and the Trust will happily step in again if the cat and new owner don't settle together.

ORPINGTON CAT RESCUE

RAYSTEDE CENTRE FOR ANIMAL WELFARE

Based in Ringmer, East Sussex covering the whole of Sussex, West Kent and parts of Surrey.
Raystede is open between 10am and 4pm for visitors. You can take one of their enjoyable walks to see for yourself the work they do, or spend time in their Visitor Centre where information is available, and films are shown. There is also a gift shop, picnic area, parking and toilets. The Centre is located on the B2192 between Ringmer and Halland. There are usually over 1,000 animals being cared for here, from cats and dogs, to sheep, goats, horses, tortoises, and not forgetting the birds and waterfowl on the lakes! Dogs, Cats and small companion animals are rehomed from Raystede, but many others spend the rest of their years here. There are usually around 35 cats looking for a new home at any one time.

Rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens, and caring for elderly or unhomeable cats and sick cats. Lap Pets takes in stray, unwanted and abused cats, rehabilitates them and then rehomes them wherever possible. Good, loving forever homes are always needed for adult cats. All homes are checked prior to adoption, and follow up visits also take place. Neutering of all cats over the age of 6 months is encouraged. They also provide a permenant home for a number of feral cats and kittens and also for cats which on the basis of age, temperament or appearance would not normally be taken in elsewhere. Many of these cats go on to make loving pets.
