CAT RESCUE & REHOMING CENTRES - LIVERPOOL & MERSEYSIDE


CAT RESCUE ELLESMERE PORT
Based in Ellesmere Port, South Wirral, they rescue and rehome whenever possible unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens, and encourage neutering of all cats/kittens from the age of six months onwards. Rehoming in the Ellesmere Port area and a small distance beyond, down to Chester, and parts of Merseyside. This is a small rescue and are unable to rehome as far away as Liverpool. Please give them a call if you are seeking a new feline companion.

Foster Homes Needed: The group care for cats in several foster homes, but more are always needed, so do give them a call if you think you could be a short term or long term cat fosterer.
Support Shop: Cat Rescue Ellesmere Port is one of the good causes supported by the EPCSS (Ellesmere Port Charities Support Shops). They have two shops in Whitby Village and the profits from the 2nd shop selling furniture, soft furnishings, household goods etc are split between the rescue and 'Riding for the Disabled'. FRESHFIELDS ANIMAL RESCUE CENTRE
Freshfields always have a constant stream of cats waiting for a new home, so the income from their support shops is vital. Please visit if you are in the area. All animals rehomed are vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. The operate a non-destruction policy, which means that no healthy animal is ever destroyed. Great care taken to ensure the suitability of each home before an animal is adopted. Freshfields also offer practical advice and financial help (where possible) with feral cat colonies on Merseyside.

Based in Boldheath, Warrington. Taking in and rehoming unwanted cats, mainly in Warrington and Liverpool but could rehome further afield to the right home. THE CINNAMON TRUST

The national charity for elderly people, and their much loved, much needed companion animals. A network of 8,000 volunteers “hold hands” with owners to provide vital loving care for their pets. The trust aims to keep them together - for example, by walking a dog every day for a housebound owner, fostering pets when owners need hospital care, fetching the cat food, or even cleaning the budgie's cage. And when a pet is bereaved the Trust takes on their full time, life time care.
Short-Term Foster Homes Needed: Temporary, short-term foster homes are needed to care for bereaved cats whilst a Lifelong Home is being found, and also for when people need a hospital stay and require temporary foster care for their cat. Please contact us if you could help.
Lifelong Foster Homes Needed: Lifelong Foster Homes are required for cats left in the care of The Trust. Future Veterinary fees will be paid by The Cinnamon Trust. Please contact as below if you could offer a home for life to a bereaved cat.
Please Note: The Trust is not a rescue centre taking cats in for homing, but when an elderly owner dies, and their animal companion is left in their care, the Trust will do their best to find a loving, life-long foster home for them.
