An independent cat rescue and rehoming organisation based in Newcastle, covering Co.Durham, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear. Drifters Reach is run by a small but dedicated band of Volunteers, rescuing and re-homing all cats who need a second chance. They neuter most cats before adoption, or require neutering as part of the homing agreement.
Items Needed: Blankets, sheets, old jumpers, etc. for bedding and cleaning, and of course cat food or monetary donations.

A small, friendly volunteer run branch, dedicated to the welfare of cats and kittens in the Bedlington and District area. They rely on the generosity of the public and fundraising events to fund their vital rescue work. They normally have a variety of cats in their care looking for a loving, permanent home. The cat's needs are carefully matched with the needs of each person or family wanting to adopt, which is why a home visit is necessary before adopting. All kittens are given their first vaccination before they are homed and all cats are neutered and microchipped, and come with 6 weeks free Pet Plan Insurance.

Coquetdale Cat Protection and Rescue help to prevent the build up of feral colonies by trapping feral and semi feral cats, neutering and releasing them back in their home territory,.

Based in Medomsley, Consett, Durham. Working throughout North East England, caring for and re-homing abandoned, abused or neglected Persians and other long haired cats. All cats are neutered, vaccinated and chipped prior to homing. The rescue has a non-destruction policy, and any old or unhomeable cats live out their lives at the rescue.

THE CINNAMON TRUST

The National Charity helping elderly and terminally ill people to look after their pets. The Cinnamon Trust’s UK wide network of dedicated Volunteers offer support, enabling pets and owners to stay together. They provide dog walking, pet food shopping, feeding, cleaning, and will foster pets when owners need hospital or respite care.
Please Note: The Cinnamon Trust is not a rescue shelter and cannot take unwanted cats in, but if a pet becomes bereaved they will take on their full time, life-long care.
Cat Fosterers Urgently Needed: The Cinnamon Trust are looking for volunteers throughout the UK who are pet free themselves, and can offer short-term foster homes to cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care. Please contact them as below, if you can help.
