Taking in abandoned cats and kittens, and finding them suitable homes. Feral cats are also taken in and neutered, then returned to their original site. Cats and kittens over 5 months are neutered prior to rehoming, and neutering follow up reminders are made for those rehomed under 5 months.

They are sometimes able to offer help towards veterinary costs if responsible ownership of pet can be proved.  The RSPCA have to prioritise animals that are sick and injured and therefore can't always take in unwanted / stray animals. SLEAPY CAT RESCUE
Based in Sleap, Near Wem in Shropshire, rehoming across the North Shropshire area.
This rescue aims to help older cats in need of a new start, but does take in cats of all ages. Cats are cared for in a heated purpose built cattery, and will be health checked, neutered chipped and vaccinated. Home checks will be carried out.

WHISKERS 'N' WHINNIES
Based in Dawley, Telford in Shropshire. A small rescue at home taking in all sorts of animals and finding them new homes for life. Some animals are kept by the rescue if they cannot be rehomed for any reason. The rescue takes in anything from birds and rodents to horses and are experienced with parrots, reptiles and rehabilitating horse and ponies for rehoming. No charge is made for taking in your pets.

THE CINNAMON TRUST

The National Charity helping elderly and terminally ill people to look after their pets. The Cinnamon Trust’s UK wide network of dedicated Volunteers offer support, enabling pets and owners to stay together. They provide dog walking, pet food shopping, feeding, cleaning, and will foster pets when owners need hospital or respite care.
Please Note: The Cinnamon Trust is not a rescue shelter and cannot take unwanted cats in, but if a pet becomes bereaved they will take on their full time, life-long care.
Cat Fosterers Urgently Needed: The Cinnamon Trust are looking for volunteers throughout the UK who are pet free themselves, and can offer short-term foster homes to cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care. Please contact them as below, if you can help.
