Rescuing and rehoming through a series of foster homes and kennels since April 2003, during which time they have helped hundreds of cats and kittens to find new homes. They are also involved with the rescue of dogs and other animals. The rescue is funded by two support shops selling donated goods. All Aristocat rescue cats and kittens are microchipped and blood tested. Aristocat Rescue has A Totally Non Destruct Policy. Donations are always needed to help with vets bills, and providing food and litter for the Cats & Kittens in their care.

An independent cat rescue and rehoming organisation based in Newcastle, covering Co.Durham, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear. Westgate Ark Cat Homing Centre is run by a small but dedicated band of Volunteers, rescuing and re-homing all cats who need a second chance. They neuter most cats before adoption, or require neutering as part of the homing agreement.
Items Needed: Blankets, sheets, old jumpers, etc. for bedding and cleaning, and of course cat food or monetary donations.

Westways is a veterinary practice which often has cats available for rehoming: strays, abandonment, surrenders, charity cases, etc. Westways has a standard rehoming policy: all cats rehomed from Westways are (or must be) neutered & vaccinated, as well as treated for worms, fleas and other parasites. Animal rescue - domestic, including rehoming of cats and kittens, also helping wildlife (room permitting). A home-check is always carried out before homing, and follow-up contact is made after homing. The Ark is unable to house dogs but they do run a database to assist with direct homing. Permanent sanctuary is given to those animals which cannot be released or rehomed. Also: Wildlife Education Centre and Nature Trail, plus animal care courses. Based in Medomsley, Consett, Durham. Working throughout North East England, caring for and re-homing abandoned, abused or neglected Persians and other long haired cats. All cats are neutered, vaccinated and chipped prior to homing. The rescue has a non-destruction policy, and any old or unhomeable cats live out their lives at the rescue.

The National Charity helping elderly and terminally ill people to look after their pets. The Cinnamon Trust’s UK wide network of dedicated Volunteers offer support, enabling pets and owners to stay together. They provide dog walking, pet food shopping, feeding, cleaning, and will foster pets when owners need hospital or respite care.
Please Note: The Cinnamon Trust is not a rescue shelter and cannot take unwanted cats in, but if a pet becomes bereaved they will take on their full time, life-long care.
