Harder to Home
Cats with minor health problems find it harder to be rehomed, yet rescue centres will often pay for their vet bills even after rehoming.
Shrinking Violets!
Very shy cats so often get overlooked, yet these can be the most loyal of pets once you have gained their trust.

Cat Fostering
Would you like to care for a cat, but don't want the lifelong responsibility that goes with it? Many rescues rely on cat foster homes to care for cats 'between homes'. Could you be a cat fosterer? Find out more here Cat Fostering
Indoor Cats
Want a cat, but live in a flat? Although a cat's natural instinct is to go outside, some cats can be better suited to the indoor life: Cats with FIV, deaf cats, blind cats, or very nervous or elderly cats. Ask at your local Rescue Centre

RSPCA - GOOLE & DISTRICT
Registered Charity no: 232214
The branch is a registered charity in it’s own right. Whilst working closely with the national society, the branch is reliant on their own fundraising to continue their work helping and caring for local animals, and all work is carried out by volunteers. A home visit is always carried out prior to adoption, so if you are wishing to adopt a cat opr kitten, contact the branch as below to arrange the visit, when a trained RSPCA trained home visitor will talk through cat and kitten ownership with you.
The cats and kittens fostered by Goole RSPCA are unwanted and unloved and will need considerable time and patience from an understanding owner, to allow them to form a purr-fect relationship and gain confidence. A donation is required to adopt, (£50 for an adult (over 6mnths) £65 for a kitten), which covers neutering, vaccinations, ID chipping and up to date de-fleaing and worming treatment, to ensure your new life long friend gets a purr-fect new start. (Care and treatment for each fostercat costs the RSPCA at least £100 per cat!) Please contact them as below if you could help, or if you can offer a permanent, loving home.

FERAL CAT WELFARE
Leeds,  West Yorkshire.
Supporting stray and feral cats at site by providing food and shelter, bringing into care feral kittens in need of socialising and rehoming and relocating adults wherever possible if they are at risk. Educating and encouraging neutering of domestic cats to prevent and reduce the problem of feral kittens being born in the first place by targeting the problem at source. The shelter's long term aim is to purchase land for a permanent refuge for feral cats.
Please Note: As a new charity formed March 2010, the Feral Cat Welfare will not be able to carry out large scale trapping until they have recruited more volunteers and raised more funds.

CARING FOR CATS, YORKSHIRE & HUMBER
Registered Charity no: 1087921
Based in Market Weighton, East Yorkshire.
Rescuing cats and kittens, both domestic and Feral, making sure they are fit and healthy and then finding new homes for them all.
The rescue is run entirely by volunteers. Their main aim is to rescue, offer shelter to and re-home unwanted or mistreated cats and kittens. They provide a service to the public and education for the good of both cats and people. There are regularly around 80 cats of all ages in the care of the charity. Upon entering the charity, all cats are fully vet-checked, and prior to homing they will be neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and micro-chipped. Cats are initially cared for at the homes of our volunteer fosterers until their turn comes to stay at our Homing Centre in Market Weighton. This enables the charity to monitor and address both their health and behaviour prior to homing. Caring for Cats can rehome to any part of the UK.

CAT SAVIOURS
Registered Charity no: 1101848
Based in Nafferton, East Yorkshire, they rescue and re-home cats and kittens across the East Riding area. They also help with neutering and returning feral cats to their habitat. All adult cats are neutered before being re-homed. All cats and kittens are treated for worms and fleas, and given veterinary treatment when necessary. No animals are put to sleep, regardless of age, unless they are too ill to be treated. The group is run by volunteers so all money raised is used entirely for the welfare of the cats.

THE CINNAMON TRUST
Registered Charity no: 293399
The national charity for elderly people, and their much loved, much needed companion animals. A network of 8,000 volunteers “hold hands” with owners to provide vital loving care for their pets. The trust aims to keep them together - for example, by walking a dog every day for a housebound owner, fostering pets when owners need hospital care, fetching the cat food, or even cleaning the budgie's cage. And when a pet is bereaved the Trust takes on their full time, life time care.
Short-Term Foster Homes Needed: Temporary, short-term foster homes are needed to care for bereaved cats whilst a Lifelong Home is being found, and also for when people need a hospital stay and require temporary foster care for their cat. Please contact us if you could help.
Lifelong Foster Homes Needed: Lifelong Foster Homes are required for cats left in the care of The Trust. Future Veterinary fees will be paid by The Cinnamon Trust. Please contact as below if you could offer a home for life to a bereaved cat.
Please Note: The Trust is not a rescue centre taking cats in for homing, but when an elderly owner dies, and their animal companion is left in their care, the Trust will do their best to find a loving, life-long foster home for them.
