Caring for Cats is a small non-profit cat rescue and rehoming charity covering Hull, Beverley, York, Driffield and the wider Yorkshire & Humber region, rehoming over 450 animals a year. Their animal health and welfare policies have been recognised nationally, with a Wetnose Award for Best Cat Rescue Centre. Each cat and kitten receives blood testing (FIV and FeLV), a full veterinary examination, vaccinations, flea/worming treatment, microchipping, neutering, & four weeks free insurance, all for a nominal homing fee. All cats and kittens are neutered by the charity before rehoming. Kittens are returned to the charity for neutering at 4 1/2 months age, costs included in the rehoming fee. A thorough suitability and matching process is carried out to ensure successful adoptions. Caring for Cats also runs a long-term foster program for sick & elderly cats. The charity operates a No-kill ethic.

The branch is a registered charity in it’s own right. Whilst working closely with the national society, the branch is reliant on their own fundraising to continue their work helping and caring for local animals, and all work is carried out by volunteers. A home visit is always carried out prior to adoption, so if you are wishing to adopt a cat or kitten, contact the branch as below to arrange the visit, when a RSPCA trained home visitor will talk through cat and kitten ownership with you. A fixed donation is required to adopt, which helps towards the costs incurred for neutering, vaccinations, ID chipping, de-fleaing, worming and any other necessary treatment, to ensure your new life long friend gets a purr-fect new start. Please contact them as below if you could help, or if you can offer a permanent, loving home.
