Rescuing and rehoming unwanted, abused, neglected, old or sick cats and kittens through a series of foster homes, also spaying and neutering feral cats. Rescue Rangers are a small group of volunteers, neutering an average 300 cats each year, and rehoming around 150 cats and kittens annually. All cats homed are neutered, which is greatly assisted by Cat Protection, who sponsor their neutering vouchers scheme. |

Wizz Catz is a small rescue with cats being individually cared for in a loving home environment. Each cat is spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, flea'd & wormed prior to homing. SHEFFIELD CATS SHELTER

Rehoming cats in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.
This busy inner city shelter always has many cats needing good homes. They care for up to 50 cats at any one time, and manage to find homes for around 400 cats every year. Volunteers are often needed to help with the cats and for fundraising, or you can help by becoming a member, and you will receive a regular newsletter - details are on their web site. The shelter has a 'no kill' policy.

THORNBERRY ANIMAL SANCTUARY

Rescuing, caring for & rehoming dogs, cats, rabbits, horses etc. Thornberry is a medium sized animal sanctuary that operates a non-destruction policy. This means that no animal is put to sleep, unless it is cruel, due to medical reasons, not to do so. Animals taken in by Thornberry are always given a fighting chance, and animals that are turned away elsewhere often find a home there.

THE CINNAMON TRUST

The national charity for elderly people, and their much loved, much needed companion animals. A network of 8,000 volunteers “hold hands” with owners to provide vital loving care for their pets. The trust aims to keep them together - for example, by walking a dog every day for a housebound owner, fostering pets when owners need hospital care, fetching the cat food, or even cleaning the budgie's cage. And when a pet is bereaved the Trust takes on their full time, life time care.
Short-Term Foster Homes Needed: Temporary, short-term foster homes are needed to care for bereaved cats whilst a Lifelong Home is being found, and also for when people need a hospital stay and require temporary foster care for their cat. Please contact us if you could help.
Lifelong Foster Homes Needed: Lifelong Foster Homes are required for cats left in the care of The Trust. Future Veterinary fees will be paid by The Cinnamon Trust. Please contact as below if you could offer a home for life to a bereaved cat.
Please Note: The Trust is not a rescue centre taking cats in for homing, but when an elderly owner dies, and their animal companion is left in their care, the Trust will do their best to find a loving, life-long foster home for them.
