Rescuing and rehoming unwanted, abused, neglected, old or sick cats and kittens through a series of foster homes, also spaying and neutering feral cats. Rescue Rangers are a small group of volunteers, neutering an average 300 cats each year, and rehoming around 150 cats and kittens annually. All cats homed are neutered, which is greatly assisted by Cat Protection, who sponsor their neutering vouchers scheme.

CAT WELFARE
Leeds,  West Yorkshire.
Supporting stray and feral cats at site by providing food and shelter, bringing into care feral kittens in need of socialising and rehoming and relocating adults wherever possible if they are at risk. Educating and encouraging neutering of domestic cats to prevent and reduce the problem of feral kittens being born in the first place by targeting the problem at source. The charity’s long term aim is to purchase land for a permanent refuge for feral cats.

CATS PROTECTION - SHEFFIELD HALLAM

Sheffield Hallam branch was set up in 1980 and is run by volunteers. They home approximately 260 cats and kittens a year in Sheffield postcode areas. They currently have eight foster carers who look after rescued cats until they are rehomed. If you would like to become a foster carer, they would love to hear from you. Their main source of fundraising is through the sale of beautiful hand carved cats from Bali, together with other gifts like mirrors, masks, giraffes, pyramids, key holders, money boxes, etc.

CARLTON CAT SANCTUARY

SHEFFIELD CATS SHELTER

THE CINNAMON TRUST

The national charity for elderly people, and their much loved, much needed companion animals. A network of 8,000 volunteers “hold hands” with owners to provide vital loving care for their pets. The trust aims to keep them together - for example, by walking a dog every day for a housebound owner, fostering pets when owners need hospital care, fetching the cat food, or even cleaning the budgie's cage. And when a pet is bereaved the Trust takes on their full time, life time care.
Short-Term Foster Homes Needed: Temporary, short-term foster homes are needed to care for bereaved cats whilst a Lifelong Home is being found, and also for when people need a hospital stay and require temporary foster care for their cat. Please contact us if you could help.
Lifelong Foster Homes Needed: Lifelong Foster Homes are required for cats left in the care of The Trust. Future Veterinary fees will be paid by The Cinnamon Trust. Please contact as below if you could offer a home for life to a bereaved cat.
Please Note: The Trust is not a rescue centre taking cats in for homing, but when an elderly owner dies, and their animal companion is left in their care, the Trust will do their best to find a loving, life-long foster home for them.
