Re: Dry food toothless cat
I Have had two toothless cats over the years and they both favoured dry food. In both cases they started eating it the same day their teeth were removed as it was probably easier for them to swallow it whole than try to chew wet food. Bearing in mind that kibble is usually sprayed with the flavourin...

Re: Desperate to source some Eprex quickly
We managed to get some Eprex last week. Some amazing people from Stray Cats West Midlands did a 350 mile round trip to get it to us. He started the injections the following day (The Thursday) the vet said he was very poorly but it was worth a try. He had the 2nd shot on the Friday. On the Saturday h...

Desperate to source some Eprex quickly
Hi all, I used to be a regular on here but haven't posted forages. One of my cats Lukas, whoI took in as a stray about 2 1/2 years ago has suddenly developed advanced kidney disease. We have hadhim on Fluids since Saturday but he has severe anaemia. The vet said some Eprex injections might help him.He...

Re: understanding early kidney disease question
Hi, I haven't been on this site for ages, but have had several cats with kidney disease over the years. As far as dry goes, the most palatable one I tried the cats on was Happy Cat kidney. I used to buy it from Zooplus but Amazon have it for the same price now. Worth a try. I tried everything over t...

Re: applaws dry food alternative?
A good food that compares well with Applaws is Zooplus own brand food called Purizon. Mine love it.It has 70% fish and/or meat (depending on flavour) and is cereal-free. Quite expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for and they need less of it as it doesn't have cheap fillers. Might be worth try...

Re: Zooplus wrong deliveries
Same as Desley and Kay. I have been ordering from them regularly for at least 10 years and never had a wrong delivery. I occasionally have had packs of litter split open due to bad packing/handling, but that is about it. I find them really efficient. I always make sure I spend over £39 to get free D...

Re: zooplus discount code
I think they are unique one-use only codes. I have used Zooplus for around 10 years.the only times they have sent me an extra discount code is if I haven't ordered for a while. Oddly, for the last coupleof years I have only been offered an option to buy 3% off all orders fora year for a year. It usua...

Re: Cloudy Jelly In Cat Food..?
Not cloudy jelly, but in the past I have had blown up pouches (usually Felix) when I have phoned them, they ask for the codes and send a voucher. Used to be £10, but the last couple of times it has been for £5. Each time, they say that it is because a tiny bit of air must have got in the pouch befor...

Purina One dry food 3kg for £6.59 at Zooplus
All types. They are calling it 3kg for the price of 2 - I ordered the sensitive (wheat-free)
I usually buy 2 x 3kg for £18.99 which is already a good deal, but the £6.59 offer is incredible! (they charge £5.50 for 800g in The Co-op! and they only sell the regular one)

Re: Coronavirus - Does shedding ever stop?
My only experience was when I was a volunteer for Canterbury Cats Protection. We took in a Siamese cat with a high titre of Coronavirus. Brigid who runs a Siamese rescue agreed to help. She said the cat needed to be kept in s stress-free environment for 6 months with no stress. She later said she re...

He is looking even better now. These were taken just 24hrs after it was done. Re: Meet Lukas
Sorry I haven't updated. Th big day was on Tuesday. The worst part (for me) was catching him. He went wild, but we got there in one piece with one very hungry and scared cat. It took a couple of hours to remove his teeth. The vet had planned to leave his canines, but one of them was badly diseased (...

Re: Meet Lukas
Sorry I haven't updated. As we expected really, he tested positive for Calici. Although the roof of his mouth is much better, his gums are still red. We are going ahead with removing most of his teeth on 9th Jan. The vet has recommended injecting his gums with Interferon while he is under to improve...

Re: Meet Lukas
So weird how he is hissy and skittish, as he hardly allows me time to lie down before he is on my chest, face to face and purring  I think I need to get him tested for Calici as advised by the vet. I have been putting it off, but need to make an appointment soon. Dr Addie recommends 6 weeks on ...

Does anyone buy Catessy pouches from Zooplus?
The jelly version is excellent, but over the last few weeks, they have put the price up for £2.99 to £3.99 a box! :o Anyway, for anyone that doesn't know, Lidl premium pouches are exactly the same food, but only £1.99 a box (not to be confused with their basics pouches than are £1.75) Even my vet ap...

I have tried quite a few over the years, but Sanicat professional clumping gold from Zooplus is the one I havebeen using for quite a few years now. Meet Lukas
There has been a cat around for several years who was always after food. It often didn't show up at weekends, but other times, appeared a couple of time a day. We assumed it was owned, but no very well cared for. Its fur was always matted. We called it Lazalike (as it is black and long-haired like o...

Yes it was the same with Willow. She was quite ill with CRF by then and although it wasn't ideal, she still loved the Perfect Fit wet and then I couldn't get it any more. Must have been 2009. I remember a stall in our local market that sells short-dated food had loads of it really cheap. I bought al...

Perfect Fit is going down well here too (along with the old staple of Purina One sensitive) For a while now, Zooplus have been doing little 50g bags in their reward shop for one point. I have been putting 5 in the basket - the max they will allow - but I might trying doing it a few times over the ne...

Re: cat with kidney problems
I agree with Desley. I have had several cats over the years with CRD. None of them have been keen on renal wet, but senior wet is a good compromise. Felix senior pouches are lower in phosphorus and protein than the adult versions. One of mine managed for 5 years on renal dry and senior wet food. Thi...

It might be worth investing in a UV torch. The wee glows under the light - as does anything else organic.I think bleach might too. There are others, but this was the cheapest on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bihood-Flashlight-Tactical-Investigation-Batteries/dp/B01N9NPAIN/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qi...

I have ordered 2 boxes of Gourmet Pearl from asda to be delivered later. I will see if they are any more pleasing to my cats, if they I have discovered that Purina have an address in Dublin ! I wonder if it is them that make the "own brands ! Very likely. I thought the same, although the food ...
