Re: Very nervous cat!!
She's been through a lot recently, so if she's found a place that she feels safe in, I'd do the 'give her time' thing and let her come out when she feels ready. She will, and seeing you fussing Leo will help her to trust you. I adopted two older cats in similar circumstances as couple of years back ...

Re: food for an old cat
Thanks Kay, I might try that for Minnie too - we already buy cheap cuts for them once or twice a week. You've also reminded me that we did cut out fish flavoured food for Minnie, as well as cereals.

Re: Importance Of Safety Collars
I agree too - we had a cat at the local rescue who'd had an elasticated collar caught behind her elbow for some time, it took two lots of surgery and months for the wound to heal. Luckily, she was found, and treated, and after about a year she is now in a lovely new home. Glad Officer Noodle is OK. :)

Oh bless her - you've sussed it! I obviously need to try and get a pic of Nellie asleep ... or perhaps from behind is her 'best side'!

Re: food for an old cat
My old Minnie is 19 and has developed a sensitive tummy as she's got older. Butchers Classic and other non-cereal wet foods, fed alongside RC Sensitive dry, worked for her for a long time. In the last few months, nothing I fed her seemed to work and she had an inflamed gut wall, so she is now on ste...

I'm not sure that Grumpy Nellie ever fully approves of anything!

I'm afraid I've no experience of either. I would, however, make sure NEVER to see that particular vet again.

Re: Cats on medication
My lot aren't too bad: Minnie: Prednisolone, Ipakatine and 'sensitive' diet Daz: Cystophan and 'urinary' diet Basil: Metacam Though because of the various diets I have to watch them to make sure they eat all their own, and nobody else's. I confess I don't do the med rounds in the morning, I do them ...

Re: Help and advice-I am driving myself into an anxious mess
I agree with the others. It sounds as though there are quite a few cat lovers in the area, too, so even if he is still around he stands a good chance of finding support if he does need it.

Re: My rescue cats mysterious past
That's so interesting - I saw that programme when it was on, too. Of my six, Minnie has been with us for 19 years and since birth. We had her mum and grandma too, and helped deliver her. Merrick and Grumpy Nellie were both loved for the first 10 years of their life, then had to be rehomed when their...

LOST: black and white male, Harefield Middx FOUND deceased
I've copied this post from the old forum, as sadly he's still missing. A good friend's cat has been missing since Thursday 6th March from the Harefield area. Black and white 4 yr old male, neutered and chipped, called Oscar. I've given them the usual advice from Cat Chat, but thought it worth postin...
