Hi all,
I'm looking to adopt a cat, when shelters are open to re-homing again.
I have grown up with cats and lived with other peoples' cats until recently, so I'm an experienced owner and am aware of the costs and responsibilities of pet ownership. My experience has always been with short-hair domestics, the type when someone knows someone whose cat had kittens!
I live on a quiet private road right next to the Thames Path with very few cats in the area. However, as I'm in a flat with communal access and not on the ground floor, a cat that doesn't require a cat flap or an indoor cat would be best suited to my flat. I work during the day under normal circumstances, but could provide outdoor access when at home. I have permission to have a cat from the building owners, which I can show upon checks being made.
I live on my own and have no children or other pets. My household would be quiet and there would be places to hide for a shy cat on the occasions I have friends over (some of whom having been telling me to get on Cat Chat for a whole). I'm happy to invest the time in helping a cat adapt to their new home.
I appreciate that at the moment adoption processes are affected, but I have the capacity to do virtual home checks and a car. I'm also happy to wait until a cat that needs a home like mine comes along. I'm also happy to travel (when safe to do so at the moment).
I look forward to hearing from you and any suggestions you may have.

Hello,
Thank you for offering a home to a cat in need. The following links on the main Cat Chat site might be useful for you, if you haven’t already seen them:
See Cats Needing Homes near you here: https://www.catchat.org/adopt
Find your local rescue & rehoming organisations here: https://www.catchat.org/shelters
Also, there are some good tips here to keep indoor cats happy: http://www.knowyourcat.info/getcat/indoorcats.htm
I hope that helps.
