My cat is 5 years old and started limping on and off on her front right leg a few months ago the vet took some X-rays but couldn’t find anything that suggested why she was limping so referred me to a ortho specialist for a ct scan this has still come up with nothing to show a problem they scanned her leg and neck they have changed her medication to some stronger pain killers the limp seems to be worse where as she is not weight bearing at all but then sometimes she doesn’t limp at all has anyone else had this problem and ever get to the bottom of it I think the next suggestion he had was a mri scan but the problem is by the time I actually get to find out what is causing the problem I won’t have any money left to get her better 😬

just a thought as I assume the vet has had a good look, but just in case, do any of her claws curl round to stick in her paw pad? and an even more unlikely cause, but one that I have come across, do you use a litter with pieces big enough to get stuck in the pad?

Yes I did think that and hope they had a good look whilst she was under but I have had a good look with a torch and magnifying glass just incase she had a splinter or something but can’t see anything they haven’t even said what they think it could be though as they aren’t seeing anything suspicious I’ve kept her in kept her caged changed her meds but nothing seems to be helping as yet
