6 month old tabby kitten acting strange

Post by cbosslady »

My 6 month old kitten, Stacks is acting very abnormal.. he won't look at me or acknowledge me when I call his name it's like I'm not even there which is not normal. He has been doing slow circles around my room smelling everything it's like he's unsure of everything.. when I pick him up and he smells me he starts purring and doesn't want me to put him down or let him go. He was just sucking and then light biting my wrist. His eyes are wide open he just doesn't seem to be able to relax or be comfortable. He's acting as if he's looking or hunting for something..  I'm not sure what to do or how to figure out what's wrong with him. He still eats but he does that slowly too and usually he runs for his food he doesn't even notice when I put it down. He only pooped once since I've noticed about 6 hours ago but it was really runny.

I would consider any major behavioural change along with runny poos reason for a vet check, unless you can identify some other obvious, non-alarming, cause. Has something happened to shock or upset him? Any major changes in routine? Any possible toxins introduced into his environment (pesticides, weed killers, toxic plants outside; new furniture, carpets, cleaning products etc inside)? Any possibility he has sampled drugs of any description, including those absolutely safe for humans?
