New Kittens Arriving In 3 Or 4 Weeks time.

Post by lazarus »

Hopefully I'm posting in the correct section, if not can admin move to proper place, thanks.

New kittens (2) brother and sister non-pedigree arriving in 3 or 4 weeks time, roll on. Spent a fortune on toys trees and other necessary accesories. There is just the wife and I both retired in a two bedroomed house, The kittens will be coming from a three adult cat household all friendly btw, I'm pretty sure they will be well socialised having 3 adult cats to keep them in their place, also getting handled by cats owners and fussed over from their grandkids. hopefully that will help the kittens for moving into a new home.

I've seen the recommendations for a quiet room when they first arrive, I can do that with the spare room but at nights in can be quite cold. Would introducing them to the living room instead of cooler spare room be better especially for overnight, it is warmer. Only noise would be tv and us shuffling about?

No other animals or kids in the household apart from odd visits from grandkids.

We introduced our kitten in the living room. He played with us when we were in there. We put him in a cage with food and cat litter when we went to bed. I didn't want to leave him roaming about and playing by himself in the living room due to the electric wires. They like to chew things when they are teething. He stayed in the living room for a week with his litter tray and food. Then we let him roam about the house but kept him safe at night in the living room until he was much older.

Enjoy your little ones. They grow up so fast!
