Fame at last?

Post by bobbys girl »

We subscribe to a brilliant magazine, 'What Doctors Don't Tell You'. In July there was a letter from someone who was concerned about their rescue cat who, they had just found out, was FIV+.

I sent a reply, telling Bob's story and trying to put their mind at ease. I didn't hold out much hope, but was really surprised and delighted to find out they have printed the letter!

Not only am I finally in print ( ) but Bob and I might actually be able to help other FIV+ kitties and their owners and let them know it is not a death sentence. I am tickled pink. :D

Hi Fabulous news. FYI Little Paws book project is progressing albeit slowly. Last week Deb & I sat down & did Trinity's & Ginge's stories. The book's title "Trinity's Ladder" as she was the catalyst. Ginge was her husband. We also met with a publishing house & they've sent info. Need to get the proposal done words/pics et all to get quote. The account mgr we met has a love of the Oxford comma - love it! Maybe your news Sue is a good luck omen. Vivian

Great news, Congratulations.

Being in print is good, but if it saves even one cat from being pts as it is FIV+ then that is the wonderful part.

Yes, I was only messing about the fame (though it was nice to see it). I feel I made a good case for our FIV+ babies and believe the magazine is published in the US too.

BTW Bob is taking fame in his stride. As usual, nothing fazes my little fella.

Hey congrats! :D Glad you're able to spread the word too :D

And the next step - BOB - The Movie. The Day of the Tripod, or, the Mighty Paw ...

Congrats too Mayday - hey I'd never heard of the Oxford comma, but having googled it, I realise I use it too ... don't know whether this is good or bad lol :)

I'm a firm believer in the Oxford comma, and tend to use it whether it is actually needed or not. To mis-phrase the standard example of why it is needed:

They invited strippers, Jeremy Corbyn, and Theresa May, is a bad enough image,

but

They invited strippers, Jeremy Corbyn and Teresa May,

brings an image you don't even want to think about.

 I was going to say, did they all come - but I realise that could be taken two ways  :o

Lol I know, I've no shame have I?

Sorry Bobbys girl for hijacking your thread, but I found a perfect example of the need for the Oxford comma this morning. It was in an old novel and described a Yorkshire high tea:

'Jam, two kinds of cake. a glass bowl filled with tinned apricots and a jug of cream.'

Eeh, happen that'd make a reet mess all ovver t'best tablecloth! :o

As they say around here, work away! :D I need a laugh right now - picked up a rotten head cold from a visit to a friend's house (second time that's happened  )

Aww, hope you're feeling a bit better now.

While not being a cure-all, I once read that laughter is a 'psychic antiseptic'. I think there's a lot of truth in that.

Good luck with the cold :)
