Gift tin with 5 packs of Dreamies inside. £4 in Tesco

Post by MarkB »

I'm sure they won't last until xmas, but hey :D

I was going to buy 2 packs for £2, so it was a no-brainer really. http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/ ... =294238344

Thanks, Mark. I went in for some today - not easy to find as they were among Christmas lines, not near single packets in the cat food aisle, but plentiful at the moment.

N.B. The shelf ticket says £5, but they do scan at £4. :D :D

I always check cat food prices on Mysupermarket before I go shopping, as I know stores don't always put the signage up. In our Tesco (an Extra) the gift tins were on the end of the cat food aisle, miles away from the Dreamies display. Ihad t go searching through a loaded trolley to put the loose packs pack on the shelf.

I think my cats eat too many Dreamies. We are on the last pack and only two of them eat treats - 80% of those are eaten by Kasper. Long gone is that skinny kitten who showed up 18 months ago ;) https://goo.gl/photos/yrP7XAq4H7KW2yrs7

I've not looked in Asda, but full price is £5.
The beef ones are not going down very well here, but they love the others.

I saw another gift pack in Sainsbury's last week. I got excited (sad I know) as it had 6 packs (I think) inside and was only £3 - that was until I realised that they were only 1/2-sized packs!

I wish I knew what they put in them. On the face of it, we are paying through the nose for what appears to a tiny amount of low quality cat food that is mostly cereals.

Years ago, Kylie used to love some treats that came in a red bag. The smelled really fishy and the bag was quite big, but was really cheap.I have forgotten the name. I will have to give them another try with the youngsters.

Edit - They were Thomas cat treats. It seems they were made by Mars, who make Dreamies. Probably explains why I can't find them now. https://www.ultimatehorseandrider.co.uk ... ED1241.jpg

I used to buy those Thomas treats, too, Mark, and was sorry when they went out of production. The cats loved the fish shaped ones, and as you say, they were better value. I can't get mine to eat the beef flavour Dreamies from the gift pack at all. :(

I remember those Mark! mine liked them too, and to come to think of it I’ve not seen any for ages. I think they used to come in the stockings as well along with those milk treats but mine never liked those.
