Rescuing and rehoming stray and unwanted cats and kittens in the North East of England. Aristocat Rescue is run entirely by a dedicated band of unpaid volunteers. All Aristocat rescue cats and kittens are microchipped and blood tested. Aristocat Rescue has A Totally Non Destruct Policy. Donations are always needed to help with vets bills, and providing food and litter for the Cats & Kittens in their care.

Ark on the Edge

Animal rescue - domestic, including rehoming of cats and kittens, also helping wildlife (room permitting). A home-check is always carried out before homing, and follow-up contact is made after homing. The Ark is unable to house dogs but they do run a database to assist with direct homing. Permanent sanctuary is given to those animals which cannot be released or rehomed. Also: Wildlife Education Centre and Nature Trail, plus animal care courses. Cat Orphanage

Rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens for many years, through dedicated foster homes in Billingham, Middlesbrough and Stockton. A home visit is carried out as a requirement to homing an animal. All adult cats are neutered prior to homing, and provision is made for kittens to be neutered by the time they are 6 months old. The Orphanage normally has in the region of 50 cats and kittens of all ages and colours available for homing at any one time.
Donations and Volunteers needed: The Cat Orphanage is self funded and relies on public generosity to carry on their work. Volunteers are always needed for a variety of roles, please contact as below if you could help.

Teesside cats protection covers all of the TS postal areas. Their helpline offers advice on cat care, cat rescue, and of course rehabilitation. Cats and kittens are cared for to the highest standards and with plenty of TLC, at the homes of branch fosterers as they do not have a central Cat Shelter! They have a variety of rescued cats & kittens of all ages needing homes. Cats / kittens over 5 months are neutered, vaccinated and ID chipped. Kittens under 5 months have their first vaccination and come with a neutering voucher that can be used at any Teesside vets. The cost of this service is £60-00; donations in excess of this help to fund the ongoing work.

Cat Fosterers and permanent homes always needed. The Cinnamon Trust (the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets, Reg. charity. 293399) are looking for more volunteer homes throughout the UK. Pet free homes are needed for short-term fostering of cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care.
