Rescuing and rehoming in North Oxfordshire & parts of Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire & Warwickshire. They take in stray & unwanted cats, kittens, rabbits & guinea pigs and find them good, caring, approved homes. The animals are cared for by fosterers until new homes are found. Prospective adopters are subject to a home visit and an adoption fee is payable, (a non-refundable deposit is required if you wish to reserve a cat or kitten). BARKS receives no grants or funding, so all costs are covered by adoption fees, donations & fundraising.
Lost & Found Register: B.A.R.K.S (along with the Banbury Guardian newspaper Online) maintain a local register of lost & found pets
Volunteers Needed: More helpers are needed for fundraising events, e.g. bingo nights, jumble sales, car boots, toy tombolas and store collections.
Donations Needed: Good quality books, games, clothes, bric-a-brac etc. always needed for fundraising, and of course any donations of money are always much appreciated.

D.B.A.R.C. (Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre)

(Formerly the Animal Rescue Group, Wokingham) They have been rescuing and rehoming cats, dogs and other domestic animals for over 40 years, across Berkshire, Surrey, Hampshire and Oxfordshire. Although a high level of funding is needed to keep the rescue ticking over, several generous legacies enabled the charity to relocate to their new, properly equipped Rescue Centre at Hurst in May 2003, where their animals receive the best of care until they are rehomed.

Sunshine Cat Rescue

Sunshine Cat Rescue take in and provide foster care for stray and unwanted cats, ensuring their wellbeing until a good home can be found. They are also concerned about the welfare of feral cats, operating a Trap, Neuter and Replace scheme. This contains the size of colonies on farms and industrial premises. All their cats are neutered prior to rehoming if they are old enough; young kittens will only be rehomed on the condition that they are neutered as soon as possible. Thames Valley Animal Welfare

The Cinnamon Trust (the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets, Reg. charity. 293399) are looking for more volunteer homes throughout the UK. Pet free homes are needed for short-term fostering of cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care.
