Lizzie (to home with Billy)
HOME NOW PENDING

The first time I saw Lizzie she was skirting around a garden where someone was kind enough to put out food for her and her four kittens. In fact, they were going between gardens so not so easy to trap so it took a couple of weeks to get all of them. That was in July 2015. Her babies have long since been homed, but Lizzie is incredibly timid and finding the right home for her is proving very difficult. She was offered a home along with another of our rescue cats, an indoor-only home, but it soon became clear that Lizzie just wasn’t happy in that situation and we brought her back. She needs to be free to roam around so an outdoor home, such as on a smallholding, would be ideal but she would have to be very well settled over a period of time before being allowed outside. Lizzie and Billy have formed a bond so it would be just wonderful if they could go together. Timid little souls like Lizzie and Billy need the right kind of people, people who understand that life hasn’t always been kind to them and that they’ve had little reason to think people can be kind. Both of these cats have their roots in domestic situations, of that I’m certain, and have very good reason to be wary of humans. Maybe it’s just as well they can’t actually tell us their stories or point a paw in the direction of those who have abused or abandoned them! In common with all of our rescue cats, Lizzie is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
N.B. At the moment the U.K. is still in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it is still possible to carry on the work of the charity without contravening safety guidelines. Potential new homes can still be visited, meeting either in the garden or street. Although some restrictions have now been lifted in England they don't yet apply in the rest of the UK and so people still can't visit any of the cats in their foster homes. All we can do for now is provide photographs and absolutely all information about each individual cat or kitten and then deliver the cat to his or her new family.
