HOME PENDING

Harriet was one of 11 adult cats and two kittens scraping a living on a landfill site and was pregnant whan caught and brought into our care. She eventually gave birth to three kittens, who are all thriving and confident, but it's doubtful that this was her first litter. The absence of any half grown kittens on the site would certainly indicate that few born there survived the many dangers there for long. Although she's still shy, having had little reason to trust humans in her earlier life, Harriet has made great progress despite the fact that this year has been a really demanding one giving me very little time to actually spend just being with these cats. She's been an amazing wee mother to her three kittens and, ideally, we would just love for her to find a home alongside one of them. It's the least she deserves after all the hardships she's endured in her young life. The perfect home for Harriet would be with people with some experience of shy cats and would give her the time and patience she would need to feel safe in what would be a completely new and confusing environment, and she would just love a garden to explore once really well settled. Very young children are probably best avoided, not because Harriet would harm them, but because these wee itsy humans can be very scary!  She's had her spaying op (of course!), been microchipped and fully vaccinated and I've been telling her that it's time to find her a wonderful Forever home where she can really enjoy life and forget all about what went before. It isn't out of the question for Harriet to be homed by herself, but if she can't have one of her kittens with her we would like her to go to a home where there's another cat wanting to be her friend as she does get on so well with cats.

N.B. At the moment the U.K. is still in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it is still possible to carry on the work of the charity without contravening safety guidelines. Potential new homes can still be visited, meeting either in the garden or street. Although some restrictions have now been lifted in England they don't yet apply in the rest of the UK and so people still can't visit any of the cats in their foster homes. All we can do for now is provide photographs and absolutely all information about each individual cat or kitten and then deliver the cat to his or her new family.
