Six month old Donatella is a shy kitten looking for an understanding home where she can become part of the family.

A calm, settled and experienced home, with older children/teenagers already used to living with cats, or adults only is required. Her adopters should have previous experience of caring for their own cats. Donatella will also need access to the outdoors via a cat flap at an appropriate age.

Donatella was not wanted by her owner, and whilst little is known about her background, it’s clear that she had limited and fearful contact with humans before she came to Catcuddles. Donatella is still very scared of new people, or those she has not had as much contact with. She is still learning that humans in general can be trusted. As a result, they need patient adopters willing to do what it takes to make her comfortable. She has recently had an extensive dental and once she recovers no doubt she will feel more at ease as well.

It will take lots of time and hands-on contact to build a relationship with Donatella and help grow her confidence and comfort around people - simply leaving her to her own devices and hoping that she comes around will not be enough, so her adopters need to be fully aware of this. and committed to helping her to trust humans. Persistence is key!

Donatella needs a quite home as the only pet. When she first arrives she must initially remain in a dedicated, clutter free ‘bonding room’ without spaces that she can hide that are out of reach.

Donatella has the potential to become a happy, friendly and outgoing cat with time, patience and love.

Donatella is looking for a home with a quiet garden to explore, in a safe location away from busy roads. A network of back gardens to explore away from busy roads would be ideal. There will need to have a catflap fitted at the back of the property within a month of adoption as any cat going out will need a way to have easy access back into the home. We would recommend a suitable microchip catflap to avoid any unwanted guests. The adoptions team can advise further on this.
