Izzy
Izzy is a 14yr old black and white girl, she is spayed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
Izzy was handed into us after she became unwell but her "feeders" of 5yrs didnt want to pay for any veterinary treatment for her, her original owner has been very supportive of her but was unable to take her back into their home so reached out to us for help.
Izzy appeared very painful in arrival and hadnt eaten in several days, our vets gave her a very thorough examination and we found some stiffness on her back legs (probably arthritis at her age) and a high heart rate. We started her on pain relief , an appetite stimulant and joint supplements and saw a huge difference in her in just a day or two and she was soon so much happier. Because of her high heart rate we checked her thyroid and found her in the early stages of hyperthyroidism so to nip it in the bud we started thyroid meds and then she had a thyroidectomy meaning that she wont now need any ongoing treatment for the condition. She had a couple of cysts on her back removed at the same time so now has a clean bill of health.
Izzy is a super little cat, once she has settled in and found her feed she loves a fuss and is a really sweet girl. She will be a great companion for a mature person looking for a sociable cat to love and chat to.
Izzy is spotless with the litter tray and enjoys her wet and dry food (Whiskas pouches in jelly are her favourite)
She is used to being able to go outside so will need a home with a nice enclosed garden AWAY FROM ANY BUSY OR FAST ROADS.
She isnt keen on dogs, she could live with another laid back mature cat and is ok with visiting children but would a prefer a quieter home without little ones running around.
Izzy is being fostered in Swadlincote, Derbys but can be rehomed further afield subject to homecheck and donation of £70
