Amber
Amber is one of three kittens who recently came into our care at the age of five months along with their pregnant mother. They'd come a long way so were a bit shy and confused by the strangeness of it all to start with and, although they'd been looked after, the wee family didn't seem to have been used to being handled much. All that soon changed and the shyness gets less and the confidence grows daily. The kittens have an absolute ball together (subtitle: Meet the Hooligans). Amber's smaller than her two brothers but she stands for no nonsense and is quite capable of giving as good as she gets in the usual kitten mad "gonna kick your head in" playfights. In fact, she's pretty good at bossing her brothers Mylo and Loki around for all that innocent wee face might suggest otherwise. Her foster mum Liz may well be to blame - I told her not to show Amber that Spice Girls video! Amber's very much in charge of the fishing rod toy, or at least she is once she manages to get it away from her brother Loki. Girl Power doesn't always win but Amber knows what she wants, what she really really wants, and usually manages to run off with it in the end. Apart from teasing her brothers and taking possession of everyone's favourite toy, Amber's other hobbies include chasing the laser beam, people watching from the window, wacky races and planning what she'll get up to once she's allowed outdoors to play. She's been told she's not ready for that and will have to be very well settled in a new home before she can even think about such mischief, but I'll have to ask her foster mum to avoid watching any wildlife films while Amber's awake as she's already mesmerised by the antics of the birds outside and you can see that smart wee brain working.... The three kittens get along well together but could be homed separately so long as they aren't left alone for long periods of time. A home with school age children would be just fine and a garden or similar area to play in and explore once well settled would be just wonderful. The three kittens were frightened when they heard a neighbour's dogs bark so it would be best if they went to no-dog homes. Amber had already been vaccinated before she came into our care and is due to be spayed this comoing week, on July 13th, at which point she will also be microchipped.
