George
George is a handsome tabby & white male cat, about 2 years of age. He came into our care as he was a stray cat with a nasty neck injury, a result of a burst abscess and probably from an infected bite wound. Local residents were concerned for his welfare and contacted us for help. George's wound has healed well and he is now fully recovered from the injury. Sadly, we have not been able to locate an owner for George and from what we can gather, he has lived most of his life on the streets, fending for himself and scrounging dinners from kindly households. George is now ready to leave our care and find a home of his own, where he will be loved and cared for and he will never have to worry about going hungry again. He has a good appetite and does love his food! A large and stocky boy, George is used to being outdoors and having total freedom under his paws, so he is currently feeling a little frustrated at being confined to a cattery pen. Consequently, you will sometimes meet 'Grumpy George' but most of the time you are blessed with 'Gorgeous George'! When he is feeling grumpy, he does tend to swipe at your feet or lunge at your lower legs although he doesn't inflict any major damage - possibly he has been kicked or shooed away in the past and is therefore getting in a defensive move first! However, when he is just being George, he is a purry and playful boy and is even quite chilled about vet visits (see picture!)! As we know very little about George's past, other than him being an independent and fairly selfsufficient cat, we feel he is more suited to a home without other pets or children and ideally in a home with easy access to the outdoors. George needs an experienced cat owner who understands cat behaviour and can read any warning signals! Interested?
