Chequers became a Facebook sensation when he was spotted in the window on the top floor of a disused mill in Macclesfield. Four days later he was still there and the lovely guys from the fire station were scrambled. A short ride in a carrier on the end of a long rope and Chequers was back on terra-firma!

A little dehydrated but with no other ill effects, we eventually managed to find his owner – missing for four months (sowing his seeds?) they’d adopted another cat and agreed it was better to allow us to find Chequers a new home rather than cause upset.

In our care, he’s been a dream, a more lovely cat it’s hard to imagine. Chequers always wants to say hello and loves to play and, we hope, he’ll find his forever home soon. He uses his tray reliably and is not fussy about food.

As with all our cats, Chequers has been vaccinated, wormed, flead, microchipped, and neutered before homing. To help offset these costs we respectfully ask for a minimum donation of £85 towards the cost of veterinary treatment.
