Dennis
Dennis is a stunning, long haired ginger male. Despite being 15 years old Dennis is full of beans and will greet you whenever you walk into a room.

Basically, Dennis wants company. He is quite happy to sit on your lap for as long as you will allow him to. He will pad and purr and, I’m afraid, dribble. Dennis also likes to have a brush, which we would hope his new owner would continue with, so as to stop his coat from matting.

Dennis came into our care in a bad state. Unfortunately, he had been a stray for quite a while. His fur had become terribly matted, and he had sores from where he was overgrooming from stress. He had to have most of his matts shaved off and wear a buster collar for quite some time to stop him from overgrooming. Dennis also had to have quite a few teeth removed. A routine blood test also confirmed that Dennis was FIV positive (feline immunodeficiency virus). Despite this he is very fit and healthy and could lead a long healthy life. However, he will need an indoor only home. Further information on FIV can be found on this link bit.ly/FIV_cats

Dennis is looking for an indoor only home, where the children are teenagers or older. He is looking for a home with no other cats and no dogs.

Dennis is neutered, microchipped and has had his first vaccination. Should he be adopted before his 2nd vaccination he will need to return to Scotts Vets in Bedford, but Cats Protection will pay the cost of this.

Dennis will need to have a safe, secure, quiet room to start off in. A room where he can have a separate area for food and water. For a litter tray placed as far away as possible from his food and water. For somewhere to hide, access to a high spot where he can view his surroundings, a suitable place to sleep or, ideally, a choice of them, a scratching post and a few cat toys and space for him to play. He will also need a Feliway diffuser in his room, so he doesn’t start stress grooming again.
