Jessie
Meet Jessie. She's a very beautiful longhaired white and tabby girl. She's 6 ½ years old with rather an independent nature. At first she was wary of her new surroundings but within just a few days she is finding favourite spots to sleep (she loves her cushion by the radiator). She comes out purring and looking for tickles at mealtimes and she does like a short stroke and tickle. She will even roll on her back and be a big softie but lets you know when enough is enough with a sharp tap of the paw or grumpy miaow. Her beautiful long fur does benefit from a regular groom and just prior to coming into our care had several matts removed. She wasn't too happy with the styling - as a beautiful princess having a couple of baldy patches amongst her lovely long locks really wasn’t a good look. We are confident she will get used to being groomed and will be really beautiful. Her fur is very soft and silky and she is beginning to do a great job of grooming herself – so it’s just a case of watching out for difficult little knots. It will take some patience and a firm approach to gain her trust she has only been with her foster Mum a short time but is already improving a lot, – she is really wants company but it doesn’t take much to make her nervous and then she will try to protect herself. So she needs lots of love and patience – and a firm ‘No’ if she’s naughty. It is definitely working – she knows now that if she hits out she will told ‘No’ and treats and company disappear. But if she behaves and tolerates a tickle and fuss, she get a treat (Dreamies – obviously – work very well
