Ernie
Dear Ernie had been living rough for some time, clearly had been abandoned and was struggling to cope, with a terrible abscess wound. He looked like he had simply given up on life. He hid away and hung his head low. His wound started to heal but he had terrible congestion too and struggled to breathe. Living rough had taken its toll and his fosterer had to coax him to eat, gently stroking his head to comfort him. Little by little he started to feel more himself again. He couldn’t believe he wasn’t going to be shooed away, and nice food and treats kept coming! Still, he flinched away a little, but it seemed this lady just wanted to care for him. Living rough, he hadn’t even been able to wash himself and was caked in dirt, but, gradually, he started washing his paws and face and then before he knew it, he couldn’t believe how glossy his fur looked again! He had a warm bed and didn’t feel so poorly anymore. He couldn’t believe how much he loved chasing after toys, he had really forgotten it was such fun! Although he knew he was showing off a bit now, he couldn’t believe how good it made him feel! Things were just getting better and better. Then one day, feeling quite bold, he crept into his fosterer’s arms and fell fast asleep. It really was the most wonderful sleep he’d had in ages. How he’d dreamed of this moment. So now, Ernie is finally ready for his very own, forever home and we think he really deserves it! Ernie is the dearest cat, who loves a lap and will stay there for hours! He is such a bold character now and very vocal when he wants attention too. He still has congestion, diagnosed as chronic rhinitis, which his family will need to keep an eye on too. He loves lively play and really needs his playtime, to run off his new found energy! Equally he loves his grub too, especially ham as a treat and a cheese puff! If you could be that special person to offer this very special boy his happy ever after home, we would love to hear from you.
