Chase (special needs cat)
Chase is a six month old kitten who has been suffering from severe urinary issues. She has made some improvements but has two weeks remaining of her current treatment before her progress will be reviewed.

Chase is not yet in our care, she remains with her current owner until this stage of her treatment is complete, however she is now a patient at The Catcuddles Cat Clinic so we’ve been getting to know her over the past six weeks. Due to her urinary infection, Chase has not yet been neutered or vaccinated but we would like to take steps to begin the search for Chase’s forever home.

Rescuing a cat like Chase will be an extremely rewarding experience for the right person and, Catcuddles will always be by your side for advice.

We are looking for a quiet, settled, adult-only home for Chase who is understanding of urinary history (which will be discussed in more detail with our head of welfare) and the fact that helping Chase to adjust to her new home will take some patience, time and possibly include vet visits in the next few months. Chase is in need of a calm, structured environment as this will give this sweet, sensitive girl the routine and comfort she needs.

Chase requires a home with very safe outdoor access and she needs to be the only pet in her new home. Chase’s forever home needs to have access through a catflap leading to a back garden in a safe location, away from busy roads. A terraced home with a network of gardens and no possibility to reach the street would be ideal. We require all cats who go out to have a caflap at the back of the property so that they have easy access back into the home. If not already in place, this can be fitted within a month of adoption and we would recommend a microchip cat flap.

If the location of Chase’s forever home allows, we are happy to extend in-house, low cost care for Chase’s urinary treatment until it clears at our N13 clinic. Anything additional, for emergency treatment or if a referral to a specialist is needed would need to be covered by Chase’s adopter so she will need a home who is financially comfortable to cover all costs relating to this pre-existing condition, alongside taking out insurance for any other eventuality.

Our priority is to match felines with homes that suit their needs, character and long term requirements. Please be aware that when a particular cat receives an unusually high volume of enquiries, our dedicated adoptions volunteers may only be able to pursue the most promising. We appreciate your understanding.
