Boston & Ivy - RESERVED
4 month old siblings Boston (black, male) and Ivy (tabby, female) are shy kittens looking for an understanding home where they can become part of the family at their own pace.

An experienced adult only home with previous experience of shy cats is required. They will need access to the outdoors via a cat flap at an appropriate age.

Boston and Ivy were found living in a factory with their litter, including Vixen and Prancer (who were rehomed a few weeks ago) and after being successfully treated for cat flu have now arrived at Catcuddles to find their forever home. Having very limited contact with humans, interacting with people is still very new to them and cuddles are not always welcomed by Ivy in particular! These shy siblings are still learning that humans in general can be trusted and Boston is definitely becoming tolerant of cuddles, his enjoyment shown by his purring. As a result, they need patient adopters willing to do what it takes to help them settle in. Boston and Ivy have the potential to become happy and settled cats; they just need time, patience and love.

It will take time and hands-on contact to build a relationship with Boston and Ivy and help them grow in confidence around people - simply leaving them to their own devices and hoping that they come around will not be enough, so their adopters need to be fully aware of this and committed to working with them. Persistence is key!

Boston and Ivy could happily share space with an existing cat in the home who is happy and used to living with other cats and will perhaps join them in playtime. Introductions to resident cats should always be done slowly and regardless of whether their new home has another cat they must initially remain in a dedicated, clutter free ‘bonding room’ without spaces that they can hide that are completely out of reach.

Boston and Ivy are looking for a home together with a quiet garden to explore in a safe location away from busy roads. A network of back gardens to explore away from busy roads would be ideal. There will need to have a catflap fitted at the back of the property within a month of adoption as any cat going out will need a way to have easy access back into the home. We would recommend a suitable microchip catflap to avoid any unwanted guests. The adoptions team can advise further on this.

Even if it becomes their preference to toilet outside, like any cat who will have access to the outside they must always have access to a litter tray inside for their urinary health. Outside access for kittens is only after they are fully comfortable in their new home and with their humans and from Spring 2021 at the earliest.

Kittens do require huge amounts of stimulation, guidance and attention throughout the day, and cannot be left alone for long periods. A pair of kittens will keep each other entertained and grow up much better socialised than solo kittens would.

All kittens adopted from us have had at least their first vaccinations and are microchipped and health checked. Boston and Ivy have also been neutered.

Boston and Ivy are fostered at our South London Hub in Abbey Wood, SE2.

Our priority is to match felines with homes that suit their needs, character and long term requirements. Please be aware that when a particular cat receives an unusually high volume of enquiries, our dedicated adoptions volunteers may only be able to pursue the most promising. We appreciate your understanding.
