Barney - RESERVED
7 year old Barney was unwanted by his previous home and ended up being fed by families in a neighbouring street before one of them took him in. It is now time for Barney to find a forever home of his own.

After experiencing some symptoms indicating urinary issues and following the advice of the Vet, Barney is currently on urinary health supplements and urinary wet food. We are supporting Barney to lose some of his excess weight and this is something his adopter(s) will need to be committed to continuing. Through the combination of his forever home, diet and urinary prevention care, it is hoped that there will be no further occurrences. Barney’s food and supplements can easily be purchased from online retailers such as Zooplus or Fetch.

Laid back Barney loves fuss and is great at keeping you warm on these cold winter nights. Nose kisses are saved for his favourite human(s)! Barney is looking for a laid-back, stress free environment; a home with adults only or teenagers already experienced with living with and caring for cats is the best option for him. Though his adopters will need to keep an eye on him for any recurrence of urinary issues, a quiet home with minimal stress alongside regular health checks as advised by the Vet should keep his urinary health stable.

Barney is also looking for a home with a quiet garden to explore, in a safe location away from busy roads. A terraced network of gardens would be ideal. If not already in place, Barney will need to have a microchip catflap fitted at the back of the property within a month of adoption. Even if it becomes Barney’s preference to toilet outside, like any cat who will have access to the outside he must always have access to a litter tray inside for his urinary health. Outside access is of course only after a minimum of six weeks in his new home, and only once fully comfortable with both the environment and his humans.

Our priority is to match felines with homes that suit their needs, character and long term requirements. Please be aware that when a particular cat receives an unusually high volume of enquiries, our dedicated adoptions volunteers may only be able to pursue the most promising. We appreciate your understanding.
