Aki is a sociable, good-natured cat who has been living as a stray. A concerned samaritan told us about Aki so she would not spend winter outside fending for herself.

Named for the season she game to us in, we would agree that Aki is a bright, beautiful long haired beauty.

Estimated to be four years old, Aki is laid back and gentle and so would likely suit a quieter home environment, but could live with older children so long as they are kind and careful with her. Her adopter(s) will need to find time to brush her daily, but this is something easy to add to her routine and a great way to bond with her.

After who knows how long outside Aki is enjoying the warmth and security of an indoor environment. She will be happy in a spacious indoor home (usually this is a property with 2 or more bedrooms) or a home with a garden to potter around in. If Aki’s new home has a garden for her it should be in a safe location with no easy access to the road (a terraced network would be ideal) and will need to have a microchip catflap fitted at the back of the property within a month of adoption as any cat going out will need a way to have easy access back into the home and a litter tray available inside at all times.


if Aki’s forever home is indoor then her adopter needs to be committed to creating a stimulating and enriching indoor environment and ensuring it is safe, i.e. cat proofing any windows that will be opened, and fully cat proofing a balcony, terrace or garden if there is one. When catproofing a balcony this means ensuring it is fully enclosed, not permitting access is not usually sufficient. If their family are using the balcony, the cat should also be able to and whilst a cat will not jump if there is nowhere to go, accidents can and do happen so this is essential to do to ensure the safety of your adopted cat. The adoptions team can offer further advice on this.
