Bob - RESERVED
Fifteen year old Bob has arrived at Catcuddles following the death of his owner. This shy boy has joined us to find a settled, loving forever home.

Overshadowed by the other cat in his home, Bob has always been incredibly shy, bonding with his owner and relatives he was comfortable around. These past months have been incredibly unsettling with his owner being hospitalised and various carers coming into his home. This timid boy is looking for routine in an understanding, patient home where he can be coaxed out of his shy shell over time and flourish as the only pet.

Bob has recently seen our vet for a senior health check. His blood test suggests he has kidney disease, so is now eating renal food, which can be easily purchased online, from the vet’s or from pet shops. Bob will need a urine test to confirm but at this stage he should not need anything further other than blood and urine tests every six months.

Having always been an indoor cat, Bob is looking for a committed, loving indoor home, ideally with a balcony as he is used to but a quiet, spacious indoor home could suit his needs. Anyone adopting an indoor cat from us needs to be committed to creating a stimulating and enriching indoor environment and ensuring it is safe, i.e. cat proofing any windows that will be opened, and fully cat proofing a balcony, terrace or garden if there is one. When catproofing this means ensuring it is fully enclosed, not permitting access is not usually sufficient. If their family are using the balcony, the cat should also be able to and whilst a cat will not jump if there is nowhere to go, accidents can and do happen so this is essential to do to ensure the safety of your adopted cat. The adoptions team can offer further advice on this.

Bob is being fostered in Plumstead, SE18.

No matter what their age, all adopted cats leave Catcuddles with trial insurance and this is important to take out, even for a cat like Bob who has a pre-existing health condition that will not be covered by this. For our senior cats the trial insurance is with Agria and if a policy is purchased within the trial period then you’ll be able to take out a policy for lifetime cover.

Our priority is to match felines with homes that suit their needs, character and long term requirements. Please be aware that when a particular cat receives an unusually high volume of enquiries, our dedicated adoptions volunteers may only be able to pursue the most promising. We appreciate your understanding.
