Sebastian - RESERVED
18 month old Sebastian is a much loved cat who has come to us following a change in circumstances in his previous home.

Sebastian needs a settled, forever home without any children and with none planned in the future. He will need an experienced, patient adopter who is willing to help him settle in at his pace.

In Sebastian’s previous home he unavoidably spent time away from his owner and perhaps as a result of this does not enjoy being left on his own for too long. Whilst he is a loving, affectionate and playful cat, he can sometimes become frustrated and may give you a warning nip if he thinks you aren’t giving him enough attention. Sebastian needs an experienced adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to adjust to his new home but can focus on helping him to shape a routine to allow him to thrive.

In the right environment Sebastian will blossom. Sebastian needs a calm, structured environment, with no major changes planned. A routine and the space to be independent will give this loving, sensitive boy the routine and comfort he needs.

Sebastian has experienced urinary issues in the past and has some crystals in his urine. As a result of this he is now a specialised diet to reduce the chances of this recurring, and this will need to be adhered to in his new home. It is not at all tricky as his food can easily be purchased from online retailers such as Zooplus or Fetch. We encourage Sebastian’s prospective adopters to do their own research into the costs of managing a cat with a health condition but Sebastian’s needs and the implications of having a pre-existing condition that is not covered by his pet insurance can also be discussed further with the adoptions team.

Sebastian is looking for a laid-back, stress free environment; an adult only home where he can be the only pet is the best option for him. Though his adopters will need to keep an eye on him for any recurrence of urinary issues, a quiet home with minimal stress should keep his urinary health stable.

Sebastian is also looking for a home with a quiet garden to explore, in a safe location away from busy roads with no possible access to the road. A terraced network of gardens would be ideal. If not already in place, Sebastian will need to have a microchip catflap fitted at the back of the property within a month of adoption. Even if it becomes Sebastian’s preference to toilet outside, like any cat who will have access to the outside he must always have access to a litter tray inside for his urinary health. Outside access is of course only after a minimum of six to eight weeks in his new home, or possibly until Spring 2021 and only once fully comfortable with the environment and his humans.

Sebastian is being fostered at in Plumstead, SE18.

Our priority is to match felines with homes that suit their needs, character and long term requirements. Please be aware that when a particular cat receives an unusually high volume of enquiries, our dedicated adoptions volunteers may only be able to pursue the most promising. We appreciate your understanding.
