Plappy - RESERVED
Plappy is just the sweetest kitty. All it takes is for a kind human to be near her and this cuddly girl will start purring. Her photos and video clips definitely do not do her justice; this lovely friendly girl simply spends all her time purring and wanting to say hello. A much loved cat, Plappy’s owner was unable to keep Plappy due to unforeseen circumstances, so she has been entrusted in our care.

Sixteen year old Plappy has hyperthyroidism and is currently receiving treatment for this through daily medication, which she takes without fuss. In time it may be a possibility that Plappy would be considered suitable for surgery, however her condition must first be stabilised so her adopter would need to be confident in administering her pills orally twice per day and be happy to monitor her weight at home. Hyperthyroidism is a common condition that mostly affects senior cats; with the right treatment cats with hyperthyroidism enjoy a good quality of life and a very good outlook. This can be discussed further with our adoptions team when making an enquiry.

Plappy is looking for a quiet, settled home with a fully catproofed balcony or a garden to potter around in. If Plappy’s new home has a garden for her it should be in a safe location with no easy access to the road and will need to have a microchip catflap fitted at the back of the property within a month of adoption as any cat going out will need a way to have easy access back into the home and a litter tray available inside at all times.

Plappy is being fostered at our South London hub in Abbey Wood, SE2.

No matter what their age, all adopted cats leave Catcuddles with trial insurance and this is important to take out, even for a cat like Plappy who has a pre-existing health condition that will not be covered by this. For our senior cats the trial insurance is with Agria and if a policy is purchased within the trial period then you’ll be able to take out a policy for lifetime cover.

Our priority is to match felines with homes that suit their needs, character and long term requirements. Please be aware that when a particular cat receives an unusually high volume of enquiries, our dedicated adoptions volunteers may only be able to pursue the most promising. We appreciate your understanding.
