Topsy
Topsy is such a sweetheart with the most adorable grumpy expression. She has come from the same home as Cheese and Chloe (both now adopted); the lady owner, sadly, died and the husband, who had dementia, had to go into care.
Topsy was already neutered; we’ve had her microchipped and vaccinated. We have full veterinary history from the previous owner’s vet – she was very well cared for by her previous owners. But sadly, she was in a bit of state. Her carer noticed Topsy walked with a strange gait. She also wasn’t eating well and was miserable. Upon further investigation and X-rays the vet found she had lesions on her teeth, pulped cavities, roots that had dissolved into bones and were exposed. She had all of this removed; she has very few teeth left. She also has hip dysplasia on the left side and her right knee stifle is swollen possibly due to a cruciate ligament tear. She is a squat legged cat which can result in these problems.
Since being on anti-inflammatory she is so much better and happier - we had to assess her through this to ensure she was comfortable, happy and able to be put up for adoption. She’ll need a pet and child-free home, company most of the time, a home where she can come and go as she pleases, someone who has the financial means in preparation for the potential dentals; xrays and operations moving forward.
– Notes from our veterinary surgeon.

Topsy does have the potential for a good quality of life at the right home who are willing to keep up with dental issues, continue on antiinflams and know that there is a likely surgery required for the stifle. We can manage the pain currently with Metacam/Loxicom. It seems a shame to not consider moving forward with finding her a home.
