Beautiful girls, renamed for Christmas and a new start in life.

Holly and Belle came in via an RSPCA Inspector (with Jasper and Louis, now both homed) who said this was one of the worst cases he’s ever had to deal with: 39 cats were crammed in cages and dog crates (one of which had 9 cats inside) in a house! They were living 24/7 like that in their own toilet, hence the yellow staining of the fur. Can you imagine the pain, physically and mentally, that these cats endured living in those conditions?

They are a playful pair. They love to chase balls, toys or each other around the house.

Both girls are still quite nervous with humans but are improving daily. They will be best in a calm household with either older children or adults only and no pets.

Holly is much more confident and will happily be stroked every now and then especially when she wants food or you have given her some food. Holly will happily sleep anywhere she fancies.

Belle is a bit more nervous but is getting better each day. Belle likes to be with you but only at her happy distance. Belle loves to relax in places that she feels safe with some kind of top to it, box, under coffee tables, chairs under a table etc.

Belle comes out more in the evenings but she is a lovely cat when you see her out playing and exploring. Belle has long hair and a few clumps so she will need brushing. If Belle feels safe she will happily be brushed.

Both cats are not used to sitting on laps yet and this may take some time.

Holly has been a bit wobbly on her legs but this is likely to be lack of muscle (after being used to cramped conditions) as it seems to be when she’s been sat down for a while.

Belle – Due to her long hair, she does get mats – when she lets you, she loves being brushed. As she gets more relaxed over time she will get better at grooming herself.

Holly – Has a little chin acne. It’s not causing any issue right now she just scratches her chin sometimes – she may need steroids but they are very cheap if she requires it.

They have been neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and microchipped. They are looking for a special person/s to let them settle and adjust in their own time. If any cat needs a chance to live in a lovely home this pair certainly do!
