Thelma and Louise
Thelma and Louise are , we believe, mother and daughter, they are around 8-10yrs old. They are both spayed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
These girls were handed into us many weeks ago from a owner who couldn't take them with her as she was moving, they hadnt seen a vet in the 4yrs of being owned by her and arrived in an absolutely shocking state to be honest. Both girls had flea dermatitis which has now completely gone but worse still both had a mouth full of infected rotten teeth (they have both had extensive dentals now). It was very obvious that whilst Thelma was a large, plump cat, Louise was just the opposite and was very underweight, combined with her elevated heart rate, her blood test showed she was massively hyperthyroid which had been left untreated.
She was immediately started on her thyroid medication which took a number of weeks to get the condition under control, she only had an affected gland on one side and was a great candidate fur surgery so she underwent a thyrodectomy a couple of weeks ago and has literally bounced back, she is full of energy and life and is such a happy girl now. The surgery means she does not need any ongoing medication now.
These girls have both really blossomed since being in their foster home, they both love a fuss and attention and can be chatty, especially at meal times. They will make a great addition to a quieter family home with either just adults or teenage children, they aren't used to living with small children. They will be best as the only cats in the home and they aren't keen on dogs.
Both girls are great with the litter tray, they eat their IAMs dry food and prefer wet cat food in gravy over jelly.
They will need a home AWAY FROM ANY BUSY OR FAST ROADS with a nice enclosed garden where they can go outside safely.
Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derbys and can be rehomed within an hour radius during the currently restrictions
