Please be advised that YCR is still currently operating using COVID procedures, This means that the centre is not currently open to the public, and all our adoptions are being done remotely. All our cats are being cared for either in foster homes or at the centre by staff/volunteers. If you are successful in reserving a cat, one of the Cat Care Team will speak to you about the cat within two weeks of your reservation and undertake a remote adoption as soon as possible. PLEASE NOTE - you must be ready to adopt a cat immediately when applying for a cat. Oh hi there hoomans, it's me Bimini. I am here at YCR after living for a short time as a street cat but luckily I was brought here to YCR, the streets are no place for a cutie like me! Unfortunately, because I was born outside I wasn't so sure of you hoomans at first... I didn't trust at all and I was a very scared little girl. I have spent a long time in a lovely foster home where I am slowly but surely realising you hoomans aren't so bad after all...I'm a lot braver than I was and do now enjoy strokes, playing and some fuss. I am still going to take some time to settle into a new home and probably won't ever be your typical lap cat but I promise, you will still have a great companion with me! I sometimes still get spooked by loud noises and run and hide but I will soon come back out of my hiding spot! I also live here with my good friend Cixi. Sadly Cixi came to YCR with something called ringworm - it caused him to have horrid scabs on his little face and because we live together I also caught it! But great news, we are both now all clear! I have also had some sniffles in the past so any other kitties you have must be fully vaccinated so that I don't pass anything on to them. Cixi is not quite as brave as I am but I am helping him to not be so scared so I would LOVE to find a new home with him, would that be okay? I really hope so, I'm so looking forward to finding my furever home! There's a couple of things to let you know, one is that Cixi has slight vision problems in his left eye. It doesn't bother him too much but it does mean he can sometimes get pooked when things sneak up on his left side! I must also let you know that I have had cat flu in the past which has made my gums a little sore - I'm okay but the hoomans say I will probably need to see the dentist in a few weeks and probably have some teeth taken out. Don't worry, YCR will help pay for these costs. If you have any other kitties they must be fully vaccinated so that I don't pass my sneezes on to them! I am going to need a hooman who has had lots of kitties before and please no little people x x
