Swampy
Swampy had been living on the streets for at least a year although, without a doubt, he had come from a domestic situation. He hadn’t been neutered so may well have been discarded when he got past the cute kitten stage and started to smell just the way you might expect an unneutered tom cat to smell. This wasn’t his fault, of course, but rather the result of having been badly let down by the people who abandoned him. Enough about that. Swampy was a lucky boy as a kind woman took pity on his plight and gave him food. Although she was unable to keep him herself, this lady phoned around to try and get help for him.

Being semi-longhaired and living rough meant poor Swampy’s potentially lovely coat was badly matted but his foster mum has been working on that with Swampy’s full approval and he’s looking good! His foster mum says he’s shy until he gets to know you but is “a real big friendly teddy bear of a boy”. Swampy is a good eater and is especially fond of cooked chicken i.e. knows he has it made with his softy of a foster mum. At first, he was quite vocal, wanting to know what was going on, but after his ‘big boy’ op he quietened down and settles for a wee blether.

Of course, he’s also been vaccinated and chipped now so all ready to go on to the wonderful forever home when the right people come along. He doesn’t seem in the least bit bothered by the sight of the fosterer’s other cats wandering around his pen so we think he should be fine if homed with other accepting cats.
