Kokovios
.Now, there's a name you won't have come across very often, if ever! Kokovios originated on the streets of Greece, hanging around with another cat, Coco. They were brought to Scotland by a lady who fell in love with them, giving them a home in Greece, and couldn't bring herself to come here and leave them behind. Tragically, that woman has now died and Kokovios and Coco need to find loving homes. Right from the moment he went live in foster care as we readied them for re-homing, Kokovios was really affectionate and keen, as his foster mum Linda put it " to sit on your knee forever". His little friend Coco, a girl, was much more upset by it all and hid under her blankets for five weeks, willing to be stroked and fussed, but not ready to come out and face the world just yet. When she did decide that all was well and she was in safe and kind hands, it became more obvious that the two aren't really close at all. In fact, soppy Kokovios looks pretty miffed at the idea of sharing his person's knee with anyone else! There's no animosity, but it does seem they would both be happier if homed separately. Coco isn't ready to be adopted yet as her vaccinations are out of date have to be started again. It was thought better not to rush her and let her gain confidence in her situation before dragging her off to the vet. Kokovios's vaccinations had been kept up to date, though, and he is now ready to make that big leap into another's arms. He's a fine, healthy, boy with very many years ahead of him to enjoy the warmth and sunshine provided by our Scottish climate... Linda thinks Kokovios would love to have access to outdoors once settled and would also relish being an only cat, getting all the attention! One thing that does seem to upset Kokovios is travelling! He gets so anxious and actually shakes for a time after the journey, even if it isn't a particularly long one. It's quite possible the journey from Greece was traumatic for him and he remembers it well. Many animals travel very long distances and take it in their stride but Kokovios isn't one of them, so we really need to find him a home not to far from his foster situation in Renfrewshire
