Lara/Larry
HOME PENDING

*Okay, so when 'Lara' went to the vet for her spaying op, the vet couldn't find her womb. A bit of rummaging later, it was discovered that Lara was actually a Larry, and had been mistaken for a girl because his wee testicles were just so wee that they were almost invisible! So, the poor little mite had had to endure a lot of poking about and two ops really. I expected him to be feeling pretty sore and miserable for a while and had pain relief on hand, but Larry just bounced back and behaved like he'd just had a really fun day out! Right, so I'd better do a bit of gender sorting with his story then.*

This little lad is Larry, one of the two kittens originally spotted on a very busy country road in mid-September 2019, aged around 5 weeks at the time. It took six weeks to find and trap Larry, his sister Chrissie and brother Joe, (yes, there was a third one!), and what a distressing and worrying six weeks that was (see Cathy's story for as many details as it would be politic for me to put onto social media!). As it turned out, there was also an extended family to include four young adult females, their presence being the only reason the tiny kittens actually survived. Of course, having been born outside and life having been pretty hard so far, the kittens were initially very confused and shy and would hide behind their mother, Cathy. Cathy, even if she was scared back then too, let me reach behind her to stroke her babies, her own basic gentle nature possible reassuring her that I meant them no harm. Larry and his sister Chrissie actually became very petted pretty quickly and happily shove each other out of the way to be first in the queue for hugs and fussing. Joe took longer, preferring to try and look invisible beside his best buddy Lesley, but all three kittens are now well used to being handled. Chrissie now has a home  and won't be listed here, so it would be just lovely if Larry could be homed with his brother Joe, or possibly with one of the young adults. He and his siblings were spayed/neutered on the 30th January, at which point their vaccinations were also completed and their microchips inserted. All that's needed now is the right people to offer them homes and a long and very happy life, full of love and care.
