HOME PENDING

Now, I know what you're thinking - "What an ugly kitten! He'll only get a home out of pity" - and of course, you're right. I mean, grey and white is so drab and it's not as if you could add a splash of colour to that outfit is it? Okay, so maybe I'd better be careful or doting foster mums Linda and Irene will be after blood. Anyway, Spook is such a good wee boy that I'm sure nice people will overlook his aesthetic shortcomings. He's a bit shy, like his sister Alula, but his sweet and gentle nature will see him past that once he gains confidence in a new home setting with kind, understanding, people. He was living in a garden with his mum and siblings, coming into our care at the age of just four weeks. His poor heavily pregnant mum had been lucky enough to find herself in a garden belonging to a lovely family who provided her with a comfortable, weatherproof, shelter and fed her well. That's the kind of help that makes such a difference to these poor abandoned souls, keeping them safe and healthy rather than threatened, struggling and ill. Spook has already had his first vaccinations with his second set completing the course being set for July 6th, at which time he'll also be microchipped. He's too young yet to be neutered but we do ask potential new families to ensure that kittens too young to be neutered/spayed prior to homing will have those ops and not be allowed to breed at all. A home with a garden or other safe access to outdoors would be just wonderful for Spook to explore once he's old enough to be allowed outside. He should also be fine going to live in a home with older children rather than excitable pre-schoolers.
N.B. At the moment the U.K. is still in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it is still possible to carry on the work of the charity without contravening safety guidelines. Potential new homes can still be visited, meeting either in the garden or street. Although some restrictions have now been lifted in England they don't yet apply in the rest of the UK and so people still can't visit any of the cats in their foster homes. All we can do for now is provide photographs and absolutely all information about each individual cat or kitten and then deliver the cat to his or her new family.
