Edwin
HOME NOW PENDING

If you've already been reading Gabriel's story you'll know that Edwin is his brother. The boys came in together, caught over a period of days along with Lucy and her sisters. Of the six, Edwin was the last to submit to and enjoy being fussed but, having had a very slight abrasion in his mouth and having to have liquid antibiotic dropped down his gullet twice a day actually worked in his favour. The first couple of days were a bit trying, I admit, with Edwin having to be shepherded away from the others and wrapped in a towel To let me place the drops in his mouth but I always followed up with a gentle massage on his forehead (cats like that - it's very relaxing. Might try it on myself the next time I have to do that shepherding stuff), and then gradually extended the massage right down his sides. Edwin decided body massages were a pretty good pay-off for his cooperation and emerged at the end of the week of medication much more inclined to sit still and let me make a fuss of him. He's still shyer than Gabriel, but he's a lovely wee boy who will just take a bit longer to feel safe in a new environment with new people. He and Gabriel will be neutered before being made available for adoption around the end of October, and of course all their vaccinations will be complete and their microchips inserted.
N.B. At the moment the U.K. is still in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it is still possible to carry on the work of the charity without contravening safety guidelines. Potential new homes can still be visited, meeting either in the garden or street. Although some restrictions have now been lifted in England they don't yet apply in the rest of the UK and so people still can't visit any of the cats in their foster homes. All we can do for now is provide photographs and absolutely all information about each individual cat or kitten and then deliver the cat to his or her new family.
