Mr Chip
When Mr Chip joined one of our managed feral colonies in Whaley Range, the feeder reported he was having trouble eating. And looking at Mr Chip, no wonder! His chest was oozing and his top lip gone. Our vet thought it might be Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex (EGC) and treatment with steroids brought about a rapid improvement.

However, we’ve found that in order to keep Mr Chip’s health stable he requires a small amount (four drops every other day) of steroid adding to his hypo-allergenic food. Neither are particularly expensive but any new owner will need to be organised. Since Mr Chip needs a constant steroid top up, we feel his immune system will not tolerate him being vaccinated … because of this, and the need to control his diet, he needs to live indoors.

Mr Chip’s full of character, he loves company but at times, gets a little grumpy but we feel this is because he is under-stimulated/frustrated by being in a fostered environment for so long. A cat-centric owner, happy to accept Mr Chips as he is, will love him to bits and see oodles of affection in return.

In other respects, Mr Chip’s been given a clear bill of health, neutered, microchipped, tested for FIV and FeLV, and treated for parasites. This extraordinary cat is ready for his special new home right now.
