Consett Cat Rescue
About Consett Cats
Mon, 09 May 2016
Consett Cat Rescue was set up in 2014 in response to the lack of satisfactory help for cats in our area. Although numbers of cats helped has grown significantly since then (we rehome over 100 cats each year), we remain a small family run rescue and cats are fostered in private homes. Because of this all visits are by appointment only and we do ask interested parties to complete an adoption questionnaire.

We aim to help as many stray, feral and abandoned cats across North West Co Durham area (and often beyond). We will treat, neuter/spay/chip and rehome them via our strict adoption process. Finding the right permanent homes is important to us.

We do not have a cattery and therefore often are over run with cats & kittens needing help but our track record for adoptions in both satisfaction and numbers is second to none given the limited resources we operate with.

All support is from public donations and the rescue is run entirely by volunteers with no paid staff so every penny received is ploughed back into the rescue.

If you see a cat you are interested in meeting, please email us and ask for an adoption questionnaire.

When contacting us, please mention that you found us through our Cat Chat Homing Page – thank you!
