Foster homes needed in Stafford area
Thu, 24 Oct 2013
Foster homes needed in Stafford area Would you like to help rescued cats but without a long term commitment? Fostering could provide the answer. It means temporarily taking a cat, or kitten, into your care until a permanent home can be found for them.

We began helping cats in 1992. Since then, we estimate we have found homes for up to 200 cats and kittens a year.
We are in desperate need of new fosterers to allow us to continue helping cats. We currently have some ladies who foster but we have to set a limit on the number of cats we can take in at any one time. Although we rehome cats further afield we are looking for foster parents within a 5 mile radius of Hixon as this helps with us overseeing the fostering and supporting the volunteers.

While we have a higher demand during kitten season, volunteer fosterers are needed all year round. This can be for long, or short term, periods. Rescue cats range from kittens to mature adults, whose owners no longer can care for them.

Caring Animal Rescue provide all the litter, food, equipment; basically anything that is needed to support the care of the animals. We also sort out any medical care and pay the vets bills. The only thing the fosterers have to supply is TLC.

Fostered cats don’t need the run of the whole house, in fact it is sometimes beneficial to restrict them to a part of the house. This is something we can discuss with you.
You don't have to worry about where your fostered cats will be re-homed as all the new homes are vetted before cats are released to the new family.
The only thing we ask is that if you are thinking of fostering, everyone in the household should be up for it as it does need commitment.

If you decide to proceed we will probably visit you at home. This is to ensure the safety of the animals and to discuss how you could look after the foster cats, or kittens. This would also give you a chance to ask questions or to raise any concerns you may have.
You can be assured that our rescue group is very supportive of anyone willing to act as fosterers until our animals are re-homed.

A caring fosterer can really turn an animal’s wellbeing around and it is very rewarding.
