Got George’s test results… good news they’re all clear and he’s in good health.
He gets to have a few more treats now to stop him losing more weight.

I think he’s over himself today. Much brighter and less grumpy looking.

Re: Hungry cat
He’s never had bloods done before and they took him away ‘to the back’.
I wonder if his neck is a bit sore from the needles.
The only time he really goes is for his vaccinations

Re: Hungry cat
Is it normal for cats to be unhappy after bloods being taken?
George is a bit out of sorts. Not interested in playing really and although he’s eating he seems largely disinterested

Re: Hungry cat
Thank you all for your replies. We’re just back from the vets who gave him a good check over and said he appears to be in good health. They’re doing blood tests just to make sure in case there is an underlying issue, which I’m pleased about. George, on the other hand, isn’t… he’s sulking and has ref...

Re: Hungry cat
Hi, thank you for your reply. I’ve been reading online and wondered the same, apparently it’s quite common. Am trying not to panic about it being cancer, just read the symptoms and he doesn’t seem to have those, only weight loss but generally it’s through lack of appetite. Am going to ring the vets ...

Hungry cat
Hello 👋 George is coming up to 14. He’s a normal boy but has an increased appetite. He looks like he’s lost weight in his hind quarters (which I understand can be a sign of aging) otherwise he’s the same old George… affectionate, likes his snoozes in the sunshine etc, and everything working as it sh...

Re: Lumpy node
Good news. I took George to the vet on Friday for his lumpy lymph node checked and it seems like all is well. What a relief! still got to keep an eye on it but it's gone to normal size now.

Re: Lumpy node
Aw thanks for the replies.
I've kept away from Google and will see whether the lump gets any smaller over the next few days.
Main thing is, George seems fine in himself at the minute.

I leave my George for 24 hours over night and he's always been grand, no trouble and lots of cuddles when I get home!
Just leave plenty of food and water out.

Lumpy node
George went to the vet yesterday for his injection and the vet found a lump on one of the lymph nodes in his leg. It's in the same leg as where it was all swollen a couple of weeks ago (and still is a bit) so the vet said to try not to worry and bring him back if it's the same in a couple of weeks. ...

Moving house
I'm due to move house soon from a flat. George is a rescue cat who has been indoors with mecfor 4 years and I got him on the understanding that when he was fostered he wasn't interested in going outside. I've seen no evidence of him wanting to go outside over our 4 years together. My new house has a...

Re: Going cold turkey on dry food?
George used to be on dry food only and then i put him on a combination as he's on a diet (bless him) Now he's primarily on wet with a tiny bit of dry just to tie him over during the day. He's stubborn though, as are most cats, so I just rode it out with him and now he just eats what is there. My the...

Re: Sore foot
We've been to the vet and George had an anti inflammatory injection and he's got some Metacam drops.
He's still got a fat foot but hopefully he'll be mended in a few days.
Thanks for your posts

Go to a website called Cataires. They do mesh covers for Windows, it's stuck on with really sturdy Velcro, is very reasonably priced and works.
It didn't take long for it to turn up either...brilliant!

Sore foot
George has a swollen foot. The pads aren't warm or swollen, he's letting me have a good prod around between his toes and I can't see anything. His foot is swollen though - I've felt around the bones and he's not scratching me or crying out. He's jumping up and down from the work top but is limping a...

Cat gone off dry food
So, George seems to be back to normal now following his dental clean, however he won't eat his chewy sticks or his dry food anymore. He's eating normally otherwise - wet food, chicken etc, but he just won't chew anything. I've looked in his mouth and it all looks fine, no redness or inflammation. Is...

He wasn't impressed with it.
I'm going to take him to the vet tomorrow for a check up, he's still a bit quiet and this not eating thing worries me a bit.

Re: Cat not eating
I've tried him on some whiskas wet food and he's had a little bit of it. He just seems to be struggling to keep the food in his mouth and chew it…bless. At least he's had a little bit though.
Thanks for your responses - I didn't realise that this descaling thing would upset him as much as it has.

Cat not eating
My cat went for a dental clean and scale on friday afternoon under general anaesthetic, he's doing really well apart from the fact that he's not eating. He's got an appetite, he clearly wants the ham or tuna I'm trying to give him but he just seems to spit it back out again as though he can't swallo...
